2019 Apprenticeship Program

Email Eric@bellsbendfarms.com for full details.

We are currently seeking 1-2 full-time apprentices for the 2019 growing season.  This position is an opportunity for someone to live on the farm and work closely with us throughout the season, learning how to make a living doing honest work.  Many of our former apprentices have gone on to start their own farming operations after spending a season with us and several have become full-time employees at Bells Bend Farms.

Farms run by former apprentices include:

Sugar Camp Farm

Sweeter Days Farm

Chirp Creek Farm

Eastatowee Community Farm

Rain Crow Farm

Lazy Heron Farm

Sweeter Days Farm

Tangerine Moone Farm

…and more

I apprenticed at Bells Bend in the summer of 2014, and can honestly say they were some of the most defining three months of my life. The farm is a great work environment supported by an awesome community. My time there cemented my decision to someday run my own farm, a dream which has recently come to fruition.

Working at Bells Bend has also helped me understand how tractors and different implements on tractors can be used creatively to make work easier. During my stay at Bells Bend, I learned so much more about how to manage all aspects of a healthy, living farm. I learned the importance of skill and technique in using equipment, and also the crucial importance of observation.
