In conjunction with other area farmers, we are participating in the Share-A-Share program again this year. This nonprofit initiative aims to increase the consumption and production of local produce by using donations provided by our CSA members to subsidize a summer share for food insecure residents of the Bordeaux and Edgehill neighborhood. Each box during the 10 week program is supplemented with nutritional information and recipes alongside the harvest. Participants add a personal investment by paying a sliding scale fee or volunteering to help at community gardens. In 2015, the program raised enough money to provide 28 shares and they are hoping to increase their impact this year!
