Sulphur Creek Farm
(check out the blog!)
50 acres of land in Scottsboro, and the on-farm
pick-up location. The rest of the land is free-range-grazed by beef
cows. Pigs next year, chickens (layers and broilers) next year.
Ellen's Melons and Berries
The Melon and Berry patch in Bells Bend! Ellen's
farm provided four weeks of huge, delicious watermelons and canteloup
for the CSA this season, and will produce blackberries and grapes as
well next season. Also several free-range, happy, and healthy cows.
Whooping Crane Farm
Over 100 acres of fertile Cumberland River bottom
land in Bells Bend, named after the pair of endangered Whooping Cranes
that visit every winter. We keep this farm fairly low-impact to keep
the cranes happy, but did grow an acre of red and white potatoes there
this year. ASK Apparel also grows a natural organic dye garden on the farm.
Red Bud Farm
This farm in Scottsboro grew sweet corn and pumpkins for the CSA
this season and will grow winter squash and blueberries next season.
